DEFLATE GATE IS A MEDIA DRIVEN FAIL BY LM

DEFLATE GATE IS A "MEDIA FAIL"

As I observed the media lose their minds over #DeflateGate , it hit me.

  • The media is trying to become the story
  • The media is trying to damage Bill Belichik's and Tom Brady's relationship (salt).

Everyone in the media is trying their best to get their "zingers" in with a ball joke.  The need for a like, favorite or retweet has consumed them.

In their lust for controversy, they sat in the dark and waited for anything, BAM, Bill Belichick said he don't touch the footballs every play, isn't it obvious, he's throwing Tom Brady under the bus.

Frankly, I do not give a flying crap about the proper inflation of footballs..  This is the biggest non story of 2015 and we are only a month in.

THE MEDIA

Some fans are saying, "We don't want to hear this" and the media will reply with the ratings of ESPN or insert your major network. Basically, they are gauging local interest in a story on a national level.

It appears, the media do not understand basic economics.  According to the local media, because of ESPN's (national) ratings, everyone wants to hear it.

Elastic - cheap product that will sell because it cheap
Inelastic - a necessity that will sell at almost any cost

Most of the media drivel is cheap and lazy

The following corporations has some of the best sales

  • McDonalds
  • Ford
  • Budweiser

I look at current media the way I look at those corporations; mass produced, low quality and very cheap.  Of course nimrods are going to eat what you feed them, you drive it down their throats 24/7

WRAP IT UP

Lets revisit basic economics, would #DeflateGlate be huge if all Sports Media was a pay service?  It's cheap information for consumers who refuse to think for themselves.

In all honesty, it burns me up when I hear the media go to "EVERYONE WANTS TO HEAR IT" followed by "I wish the story would go away".  Well stop talking about it and control your show.  I truly do not understand the personalities who say they are tired of the story and still hit it hard.

Lastly, I would like to give the 97.5 THE BLITZ the "No Balls Award".  Fred Faour and AJ Hoffman were the only local show (I heard) that did not let the deflated ball story dominate their show.  Fred and AJ attacked the topic in moderation but continued to conduct their show as normal.
