The Hollywood rumor mill has "The Strain" returning to FX for a second season on July 12, 2015.
FX officially announced that the continuation of “The Strain” and actually the second season will be released in the summer of 2015. The exact release date has not yet officially been released.
"The Strain" evolves around the fight against "The Master", the mythical Ancient vampire character and reportedly the reign of terror has not ended and the scale of the disaster has only grown in Season # 2.
Acclaimed horror film director, Guillermo Del Toro, who also directed "Pacific Rim", shared his plans saying FX can shoot five seasons of "The Strain" with Corey Stoll in the lead role. The first two seasons will be based on the first book from the trilogy “The Strain”and the rest divided into a half book per season.
"The Strain" is not for everyone, as any storyline built around vampires are usually not. I'm not sure the series has enough legs to have long- term success beyond two or three seasons. In Season #1, the writers did a serviceable job of character introduction, but didn't do enough to make viewers care about the individual welfare of characters.
What it boils down to is that the script has to get stronger in more dynamics of detentions of character development.
The writers didn't do a bad job, they just didn't finish the deal.
