On tv
the ranger had a cheesy set.... It was interesting Tonto had a positive image that was well ahead of his time..the brother on Jack Benny's show always getting over on Jack... Aaah radio how sweet it was..."the jello was jiggling" after the Laker games ..Gunsmoke was on the radio and stayed on television well over twenty years..a old radio guy in Sacramento California told me that radio microphones in the old days where so crappy u had to have a big voice for the mic to pick up the dialog...later on i read about that in school...I heard Mel Allen what a voice...jeez the guy who did the games for the baseball Giant's...was it Russ? I know you know Mike... Lol..he eould say bye bye baby as a ball went over the fence or a variation there of..May's hits the ball and Davis backs up in center turns his head and it's bye bye baby!! Omg baseball on the radio was like church
man.. It was ritual it was it was spectacle..middle relief? There was no stinkin middle relief or setup guy if Juan Marichal went past six inning it was all over and lawd I was a Dodger fan... It was brutal I lived among east bay Giant fans... One time the Dodger catcher (Johnny Roseboro) was just whizzin the ball past Juan's ear each time he came up to bat...well Johnny buzzed Juan one time too many, Juan turned took a few steps back and swung his bat repeatedly upside poor Johnny's head. When you were rivals back in the day it was serious man...Maury Wills was stealing bases at a record pace and the Dodger's roll into San Francisco to play the Giant's some how the sprinklers stayed on all nite accidently of course..Earlishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17932031229740381323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4067604525757369409.post-91040691045557732212010-12-31T03:02:40.583-06:002010-12-31T03:02:40.583-06:00Mr Foy wow I remember the man..radio was great ......Mr Foy wow I remember the man..radio was great ...
