HALLOWEEN COSTUMES OF TIGER AND DANICA!
WORLD SERIES EXCITEMENT? IT BETTER HAPPEN SOON OR IT’S ALL OVER!
As predicted (actually "guessed") here two weeks ago, it's Texas vs. San Francisco playing in the World Series. So far in the World Series, the home-team Giants have won both games and lead, two games to nil.
Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are back again on FOX Sports to sleepwalk us through the games. If you’re not a fan of Joe Buck's unique zombie-like style and Tim McCarver's rants about nothing and are looking for an alternative then you’re out of luck, unless you can find a way to sync up your radio and TV by putting your TV on a several-second delay to match the ESPN Radio broadcast.
One of the fun things about FOX telecasts is the formula that they follow in close games. If it's a one- or two-run game with the away team ahead in the 8th inning or later, keep a look out for this pattern that they usually follow: after a pitch, the cameras pan the crowd for an older white woman praying, if one is available; then they find another person praying; and then they show a close-up of the reliever. They will follow this formula when the home team is up after almost single pitch during the last two innings of the game in a close one.
However, at the rate this series is going, the home team may never trail, but we're still hoping to see those people praying.

FLUB OF THE DAY
Among the several flubs that were found in Friday’s (10/29) Houston Chronicle, Jason McDaniel in his write-up of the high school football game between Austin and Waltrip, won by Austin, Jason wrote that Austin had clinched the District 19-4A number one seed. Wrong! Since Austin and Yates are both 5-0 in district with one game remaining for each team, Austin first has to beat Yates next Friday night (11/5) at Barnett Stadium and then they will have clinched the district's number one seed.
HERE COME THE RAVAVGING NEW YORK GIANTS!
GAMBLING TIP OF THE WEEK:
The San Diego Chargers are undefeated in home games that are blacked out on local TV. They are a sparkling 2-0, which will be on the line again this Sunday when Tennessee visits Qualcomm Stadium since there were, at last count, about 8,000-plus seats unpurchased. The Chargers didn't even bother to ask for a 24-hour extension.

WASHINGTON (+9) over ATLANTA*
The Wizards had a day to rest after getting crushed in Orlando, but catch a team that is very good at home going 37 and 10 straight up last year. The flashes of brilliance will be there for Wiz point John Wall (14 and 9 assists in career opener), but Mike Bibby knows all the tricks and ATL impressive so far. Hawks boast 6th man of the year in Jamal Crawford and he will play big minutes in the 4th quarter spelling Bibby to help pull it out. ATLANTA, 104-101
SACRAMENTO (+3) over CLEVELAND*
What Byron Scott was thinking when he took the Cavs' job is anybody’s guess. He will likely roll out the blue print that defense keys the offense, but that only works on talented teams. Reality set in last night for the Cavs when crushed after shocking the Celts, but starters only scored 29 vs. the Raptors last night. Rookie DeMarcus Cousins had 12, 4 bounds, and was 6 for 6 from line last night. SACRAMENTO, 92-89
MEMPHIS* (-7) over MINNESOTA
The Wolves were horrible last year and worse on the road with only five wins straight up. Griz squad abounds with talent, matches up well here with five solid starters and is coming off a road game at Dallas last night in which Gasol got fouled with six seconds to go, made one of two, but Memphis won by a point. Expect Mike Conley to control the tempo, and if so, Griz roll. MEMPHIS, 114-100
