The Back Story to Seth Payne and Josh Innes

After the Josh Innes and Seth Payne fiasco on radio row, many were left confused. Some are under the assumption, it all started today. They are wrong, it’s been brewing for a while.

Josh Back to Houston

Upon Josh’s return to Houston, he worked afternoons on 790. He replaced Charlie Pallilo.  At the time, Seth and Mike Meltser were not direct competitors. Josh was primarily going at The Triple Threat.  In fact, on Josh’s first or second day back, Josh mentioned after Philly fired him, Seth Payne was tried to help him.

Shit hit the fan when Josh found out that Sports Radio 610 contacted 790’s sponsors and talked down on him.  

A few months later, Josh was supposed to interview a Houston Texan player but Sports Radio 610 blocked it.  Sports Radio 610 is the Flagship Station for the Texans.

At this point, Josh was blasting 610’s management while steadily saying he had friends at 610.

Lance Zierlein retires, Josh replaces him

After Lance Zierlein went on a Hip Hop Emcee retirement (Only to resurface in a few months), Josh Innes and Jim Mudd replaced the morning show.  At this point, The Triple Threat was no longer the target but MAD Radio.  Josh would take shots at them from time.  The first major event was Jim and Josh’s Texans Training day stunt.

Josh had Jim to go to a Texans practice and record.  Jim was talking to random fans and asking random questions.  The recording was feeding through 790.  Before the season started, the Texans revoked Josh’s credentials. 

I never heard Josh accused 610 for the credentials, maybe I missed it but Seth Payne certainly heard something as he displayed today

Straw that broke the camel’s back

A couple months back, Josh decided to call Sports Radio610.  Josh used a fake name.  Mike and Seth answered and quickly dropped the call after realizing it was Josh.  It was all laughs until Josh revealed 610's attorneys ordered him to remove the segment with his call to 610.   Today, Josh said he did not accuse Seth and Mike of getting attorneys involved but I did hear Josh accuse Seth and Mike of getting attorneys involved.  In fact, he drew a line in the sand and said from that point he no longer considers them friends anymore.

Rick Smith’s Wife has cancer, Seth Opens up on Josh

Up until this point, the 610 call was forgotten by the public.  After the last game of the season, Rick Smith announced his wife has cancer and he would be taking a leave of absence.  Josh tweeted some fucked up shit about Rick Smith.

This was the first time Seth tweeted how Josh lied on him and he called Josh a few names.  No one really knew what Seth was referring to but I had my suspicions and I wrote about it.  Seth did not like Josh telling his audience that he and Mike got their attorneys involved.

After the Rick Smith incident, Seth would sporadically take shots at Josh without naming him on-air.  I knew exactly who he was talking but it went unnoticed by the masses.  All in all, I knew it was a matter before Seth got dead in Josh’s ass.   He was upset and felt Josh lied on him. 

If it didn’t happen on radio row it was inevitable it was going to happen.  I had no problem how Seth handle Josh today.

Josh Innes

Josh Innes accomplished his objective, he wanted to be mentioned on Sports Radio 610 and he got it.  After the confrontation, Josh was a subject on 610 for multiple segments.  What I do not like is Josh acting like the victim.  Man, if you are going to start shit be about that shit.  Do not go cry bitch when someone checks your ass.

At the end of the day, it appeared Seth had enough of Josh's shit and his Program Director gave him the Greenlight.  I think Seth was ready to go but he hit Josh with criticisms Josh has heard throughout his career.  Although Josh's objective was accomplished he could have did a better job fighting back like telling Seth how their show is a college course.  However, Josh allowed Seth  to call him a Bitch but the minute Landry Locker (Producer) called him a Bitch, he charged Landry up.

Did Sports Radio 610 pull some Hoe Shit with Josh's Show, YES!  Was Josh right in accusing Seth and Mike, NO!
